roof-beams

Put up the roof beams today. Chris made a mockup of a design for the cabinets, a sort of minimalist Swedish style sliding door thing. He used teflon strips to reduce friction for the sliding doors.

Next week I’m going to spend my time tinkering with sandwiches and root beer for this letterpress fair on Saturday.

stud-walls

cherry-cake

With some of the cherries that we picked we made preserved chocolate cherries from a recipe Lindsey had seen in the Oregonian. When we tried them a few days later they seemed to have fermented, also the chocolate curdled and became granular. But I thought they would be perfect in a black forest cake, so I made two yesterday. One for me and one for the neighbors. The cherries on the top are actually some of the succesful marachino’s we made.
