I was parking the cart in front of my house. After a month or so I got a tow notice. There are no parking fines in residential neighborhoods, just the 72 hour tow notices. I scrambled looking for a new spot. I called up the local church on a Sunday morning, perhaps annoying the minister. I eventually found a spot outside my neighbors warehouse that he rents at 20th and Powell.

Although Steve doesn’t appear to live in his house anymore he still shows up for nuts when I fill up the feeder. He seems to be doing well, although he’s still small. His traumatic childhood has made him even spunkier I think. He did initially live in the house for about a month when I first released him. Other big squirrels would show up and peek into the house but he would chirp aggressively and successfully defended his home and his hoard of nuts.

I watched a lot of sesame street and the muppets as a child but for some reason do not remember swedish chef. Martha was showing me some of these episodes and they are just hilarious. Somehow I never get tired of his theme song.
Making a lighter then air soufle
Chicken and egg
Turtle soup
Squirrel stew
Also, an episode of “This is your lunch“, a great spoof of the old show “This is your life”.

A photo of the calculator I was using in the cart next to my iPhone running the skeumorphic calculator app. After running the cart for a few weeks I felt that this summarized the before and during very well. Now that I’m taking a break over the winter I thought of this photo depicting two states of reality. The old and the new. The drawing of the viking was done by Martha.
I’m sorry for not updating the blog. I had gone into a sort of home organizing isolation, but I’ll put up some photos of Steve, who is doing well.
